CONTENTS/SUBJECTS:
Provide detailed projections of coal production, prices, flows, and costs. The DRI Coal Model used to generate
the forecasts is driven by coal demand and considers 10 supply regions, 16 producing states, 18 demand
regions, 7 consuming sectors, 2 types of mining, and 6 sulfur types of coal. Projections of regional and sectoral
coal demand, generated by the DRI U.S. Long-Term Energy Model, are available for access in the Coal
Forecast data banks. Specifically, information is available for: Coal production by supply region and producing
state - total, deep, surface, and for six sulfur types; Coal demand by demand region - total, and by the following
consuming sectors: Electric utility; Industrial (metallurgical and steam); Household and commercial; Synthetic
